Alfred Hitchcock Chronology

Alfred Hitchcock Chronology

Surely no one can quibble with Alfred Hitchcock as one of the most vibrant and consistently brilliant filmmakers in the history of cinema.  He's also one of the most important, inventing new techniques and methods, creating a language of suspense that is still in use today and pioneering a new, more mature kind of thriller.  The astonishing breadth of his career serves to put the viewer in awe.  He was a man who began making films during the silent era and did not stop until the MPAA rating system was in place.  He saw sound come in and silence go by the wayside.  He saw the rise and the subsequent fall of the Production Code; he saw black & white become a side note as color film became popular; he saw television become a major force.  And he exploited all of these myriad opportunities for all they were worth.  So, here, a page dedicated to the master.  Eventually I hope to have seen everyone of his films that remain in existence and posted links to them here.  Call it one more tribute to a profoundly deserving genius.
