Buy Scandal: Say Hello to My Little Friend
Well, like you said, Olivia, we all deserve a second chance.
Patrick Fabian (of The Last Exorcism) and Melora Hardin (of The Office) are absolutely perfect in their guest roles as a sexting senator and his long-suffering wife. They’re the “case of the week” this time around and it’s another super, super case of the week, with a twist that I didn’t see coming, but seemed really obvious once it was revealed. The investigation into Remington keeps unfolding in some compelling ways; there’s a great funeral scene, for instance. There’s a great sideplot that introduces Lisa Kudrow in a recurring role as a possible Democratic candidate for President; it’s fantastic when the typically poised Mellie pulls one of those classic Washington mistakes and accidentally badmouths Kudrow’s character into a hot microphone. Actually, it’s the third season; can’t believe that hasn’t happened already, big-mouthed as all these characters are. Really, really good stuff. Again. 3 ½ stars.
tl;dr – great guest performances and a lot of twists in both the “case of the week” and investigation into Remington; this season is turning out better than I had even hoped. 3 ½ stars.
