What About It
So, yeah, I’ve been going through all these podcasts that have won awards. I’ve looked at the iTunes awards, the Podcast Awards, the AV Club’s annual list of best podcasts. You know all that kind of stuff. I’ll download and listen to five episodes of a podcast before I review it. I picked five rather arbitrarily. I’ve discovered that you can’t judge a podcast off just one episode; every podcast has weak episodes here and there. Others are acquired tastes or, at least, you have to get used to the style and voice of them. Doug Loves Movies, my very favorite podcast, was off-putting to me the first time I listened to it. So, anyway, I’m telling you this so you’ll get why I even listened to this show, given that I have no experience with home brewing. Heck, I don’t even drink beer at all. But I listened to five episodes. Still, I can’t really judge it, I don’t think. I understood about ten words spread across the five episodes I listened to. It’s not particularly funny or charming as some specific podcasts are – sometimes, even if I know nothing about a subject, the podcast about it can be interesting based purely on the personalities of the people on the podcast, but this isn’t one of those. So, yeah . . . anybody home brew? I don’t.
Essential If
You are trying to break the world record for hearing someone say the word “hops.”
Avoid Like the Plague If
Well, apparently, you don’t do home brewing.
Best Entry Point
Well, like last time, I can’t really pick one. I only listened to five and I understood them so little that I can’t even really distinguish between episodes enough to really even tell you what was in which one. If you’re a home brewer, just download the latest one.
Next time, a sports show. Is this our first sports show? Feels like it. I’m not super into sports, but I do listen to a couple of sports shows. Is this one of them? We’ll see.
