Buy Scandal: Molly, You in Danger, Girl
So, anyway, this title references a line spoken by Whoopi Goldberg in the movie Ghost; Tony Goldwyn obviously played a part in that movie and plays a big part in this series and there’s a character named Molly in this episode and she is indeed in danger but that doesn’t really make this title any less stupid. Anyway, on to the episode itself. There’s some good stuff here; Quinn & Huck have a very suspenseful plot thread and the characters, who are about the last two on the show I would have picked to put together in an ongoing plot thread, continue to bounce off of each other in really intriguing ways. And a great Fitz/Mellie scene; both Goldwyn and Young are excellent again, coming right off that astounding scene they had last episode. But the end of this episode is really dumb, okay? Just really dumb. The show is definitely been more middling in this second half so far; even the really good episodes have typically had a couple of dumb things in them. Still, this one has some good stuff in it for sure. Recommended. 3 ½ stars.
tl;dr – one central plot thread here is annoyingly dumb, but the rest of the episode is mostly solid, aside from that ridiculous title. 3 ½ stars.
