So, this episode starts season three of Scandal off quite promisingly if not spectacularly. Everything picks up right after season two; it’s explicitly stated that twenty-two minutes have passed since the last shot of season two (boy, that’s specific!). The show looks to be continuing in its path with some solid stuff going on and a nice ending. But there’s only one really, really great scene, a conversation between Fitz and Kate Burton’s Vice President Langston. It’s a really nice, emotional and humanizing moment for both of them. 3 stars.
tl;dr – third season premiere picks up where season two left off with a solid, if not spectacular, showing. 3 stars.
