What It Is
Couple of guys get together every week to talk about amusement park rides.
Technical Details
Episodes come out every week and typically run about thirty to forty-five minutes. Each episode features an introduction by Neil Patrick Harris, which I find really odd. Around three hundred episodes are available at iTunes. For the rest of the over eight-hundred episodes, go to the titular website.
What About It
Okay, this is kind of like the Walt Disney World podcast I talked about a while back. But this one is really even less of interest to me. I mean, Walt Disney World just has a crapton of things going on all the time and some really interesting rides and attractions. But this is mainly just about roller coasters and such at regional amusement parks. It does include some of the chains, like Six Flags, etc., but the show just has less of interest to talk about. I mean, I like roller coasters. They’re fun. I’m not sure I can really talk about the differences between them. You know, you just . . . go really fast on like loops and drops and stuff. I don’t really know how to appreciate them beyond that. I don’t really think of them as “culture” or “art.” I don’t know, maybe these guys don’t either, but I just simply don’t think about roller coasters as something to really spend a lot of time talking about. So, hard for me to judge. Oh, and I should point out that they occasionally do comedy bits; one of the hosts fancies himself a comedian (and he does occasionally say something funny) and he likes to do characters. You know, obnoxious accents and such. These sketches and characters are painfully unfunny. So, this isn’t one that I’m going to keep listening to or anything.
2 ½ stars.
Essential If
You have actually had an argument about who is the best roller coaster architect.
Avoid Like the Plague If
You have ever ridden directly into a flying wad of vomit at sixty miles an hour.
Best Entry Point
I have no frigging idea. I really could not say. Just . . . whatever.
