What It Is
Today’s tech news. What are you, some kind of idiot?
Technical Details
Show comes out every weekday; episodes run about twenty to twenty-five minutes. The iTunes page has the most recent twenty episodes; for the rest of the nearly 1500 episode archive, well, you can try the website, but somehow I doubt they have 1500 episodes of a news show archived. It is, as is usually the case with TWiT shows, also available as a video show, for streaming or download.
What About It
This is a solid show. It’s informative and often interesting in the way that it boils down issues related to technology for the average listener. It only has a couple of minutes to spend on each story, so it often feels like a very quick thumbnail sketch and not a real exploration of the issues or events, but that’s the point, I guess, of this kind of show. I like the host; he knows how to keep things moving. It’s well-produced. It’s a show that has a lot of trivia, of course, and certainly doesn’t handle the stories in a particularly unique or compelling way. It’s one I could see myself listening to, if I didn’t already have so many podcasts (and a lot of news podcasts in particular) that I can’t keep up with. Like a lot of TWiT show, a subscription to this show will send you spiraling into a massive archive, if you can’t actually listen to the show on the day it comes out. Still, it’s better than most of the shows in its particular tech arena of news.
2 ½ stars.
