Change will come. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But it will come.
So having forced her old company to give her a job via the time-tested method of threatening to sue, Laura Dern’s Amy finds herself relegated to the basement with all the other losers in a dead-end data-entry job. This episode introduces the cast of folks from the basement and it’s a real treat. A couple of comedians I love from podcasts get introduced here, Jason Mantzoukas of How Did This Get Made? and Michaela Watkins of Lake Bell’s In a World. There parts are small, but still, it’s fun. Timm Sharp is fantastic as Dougie, the boss of the basement crew. This one is definitely a more comedic episode than the first one and it’s a lot of fun. 3 stars.
tl;dr – second episode opens the show’s world up substantially and introduces a large number of new characters; more comedic than episode one. 3 stars.
