Hollywood Babble-On

What It Is
Kevin Smith & Ralph Garman discuss issues related to the world of entertainment with a healthy dose of filthy humor and terrible impressions.
Technical Details
A new episode drops every week and they run seventy to ninety minutes typically. The iTunes page has the most recent 250 episodes and the show is still a bit shy of 300, so that’s most of them. For the rest of the archive, check out the show’s official home-page. The show has an Explicit tag and, holy ******-******* ****, does it earn the ****-******* thing, you *******.
What About It
I’m a big fan of some of the stuff from Kevin Smith’s podcast stable, but this one is pretty average, I think. Smith & Garman have some chemistry, but not nearly as much as Smith has with some of his other podcast co-hosts, like Fat Man on Batman’s Marc Bernardin or, most notably of all, Smodcast’s Scott Mozier. This show also has a lot of filler; I don’t mind a few shout-outs at the beginning of a show, especially when they’re being done via terrible impressions, but the shout-outs go on way, way too long. I just don’t find the show particularly funny; every episode has a handful of chuckles, but typically not enough. The show isn’t bad, just not all that good. It’s fine, but from Smodcast I’m used to higher quality.
2 ½ stars.
Essential If
You’ve always wanted a show with a weekly segment devoted entirely to the size of Liam Neeson’s penis.
Avoid Like the Plague If

Best Entry Point
The show stays pretty topical, which is not to say that old episodes aren’t worth listening to. But to get the full impact, you should probably get a fairly recent episode.
