Newark Athlete (1891) - William K.L. Dickson

A kid has a pair of wooden sticks in his hands and he raises them dramatically.  Repeat footage three times.  There you have Newark Athlete.  This is, for a bit of trivia, the oldest film in the National Film Registry.  I thought the quality was a little less than Dickson Greeting, so I’m not sure why this one and not that one, unless there’s an issue with the Dickson Greeting print or something.  Regardless, you know where I’m going.  0 stars.

tl;dr – oldest film in the National Film Registry is obviously renowned for its age,  not its content.  0 stars.
