This film captures a lifeboat returning from a ship to the shore and, while the quality is predictably poor, it’s rather dynamic in its way, capturing the tossing of the waves. A couple of moments that feel like significant moments in film history: there are cuts for time here, so that we don’t see the entire journey of the boat from ship to shore and, even more surprising, the camera PANS at one point. The camera has, as memory serves, been totally static this entire time. Moving the camera? A whole new ball game. 0 stars.
tl;dr – a couple of technological achievements make this one kind of significant as history, but not as art. 0 stars.
