So, before I bid farewell to this woe begotten series, let me just mention a couple of things. This omnibus book contains the first three books in the series and a bonus short story. It clocks in at under 110 pages, so I kinda feel like all of these are short stories. This does not contain the eventual fourth book in the series, the heart-warming Christmas special, COVID Claus is Coming to Town. Honestly, why did she not just call it COVID Claus is Coming? Do I have to teach you how to write erotic parodies, M.J.? After all this time? Anyway, I won’t be reading that one since it didn’t come in this book and I just can’t. But a word about that final short story, The Legend of Dr. Ashingtonford. Yes, as you might guess, this does finally bring back our protagonist from the very first book in the series, Dr. Alexa Ashingtonford, presumed dead lo these many months. Turns out that she didn’t die after her violent sexual encounter with the personification of COVID-19; she was impregnated! And has now been hiding out in a cave in the woods? Anyway, yes, she’s going to have a bouncing little virus baby and, I’m going to be honest, this is the most disturbing twist in this series so far. I will say that this short story got a genuine laugh out of me, the first one in ages, when the book let us in on the secret that Dr. Ashingtonford had to be chiseled off the Lab floor after the encounter at the end of book one. Yes, I actually laughed at that. This series has taken a toll, okay? Okay. We’re done. 0 stars.
tl;dr – omnibus edition of pornographic and disgusting “erotic” fiction adds a small epilogue to the series that is perhaps the most disturbing entry yet. 0 stars.
