Buy Just Before Losing Everything
So, yeah, I decided to revisit some of the good Oscar shorts from 2013, in case you can’t guess. This French short runs about thirty minutes and I’m once again going to be really vague. I’m being vague because I think one of the pleasures of shorts is that I often go into them knowing nothing about them except that, typically if I’m watching it, it’s Oscar nominated. So when a short starts, I’m not even sure if it’s comedic or dramatic or what and I want you to have the same experience with these really wonderful shorts. So, this one is French and it revolves around a mother and her two children and I’ll just throw you one bone: it’s incredibly suspenseful. Lea Drucker is really great as the harried mother; it’s a really wonderful performance. Anyway, this one is great, otherwise I wouldn’t have watched it again. If you haven’t seen it, it’s half an hour, so go watch it. Highly recommended. 4 stars.
tl;dr – hyper suspenseful French short is thirty minutes of taut tension; features wonderful performances from the entire cast. 4 stars.
