She was supposed to cure the Coronavirus . . . instead she fell in love with it!
So, for reasons that I’m not even sure about myself, I decided I wanted to plunge back into the morass of bad art. You know, bad movies, bad music . . . bad books. I mean, I’m not going to get into the reasons people love bad art; that’s a whole philosophy. Long story short, I went on Goodreads and found this little gem which is erotic short story (16 pages long) about Dr. Alexa Ashingtonford who has a sexual obsession of sorts with COVID-19 that leads to her having all sorts of ridiculous fantasies involving a test tube. But, luckily (?), COVID-19 takes over the body of one of her fellow scientists and becomes sentient. The guy sprouts spike proteins, turns green . . . you know, the usual symptoms of COVID-19. They then have absolutely DISGUSTING sex all over the Laboratory.
So, the author apparently wrote this as a way to make money (!) after losing their job to the pandemic. Well, whatever, some will find this more amusing than I did; it is, I think, intended to be funny. It’s not an earnest erotic story (it’s also not an Ernest erotic story) that is terribly written. It’s an intentional spoof. And I’ll admit that it had a few funny moments. At one point, the scientists run samples on a “sampleometer” which got a laugh out of me. Later, COVID unleashes his “warbling member” and I’m pretty sure “warbling” means that it’s making noise and I couldn’t stop laughing about that. But, on the whole, the laughs really aren’t worth it, especially since the sex scene is genuinely gross. I’m not a prude, but this is just disgusting. I’d say it’s not worth your time even at just sixteen pages. Oh, look, it’s book one in a series, the Kissing the Coronavirus Chronicles. You know what that means. I asked for a bad book and, for my sins, I got a series. Let’s goooooooo bitches!!!!!!! 0 stars.
tl;dr – absolutely pornographic, but purposely tongue in cheek (yikes!), this book is neither funny nor erotic; only sixteen pages, but too long as it is. 0 stars.
