The two giant perfect specimens of men glared at one another.
One green, one blue.
One good, one evil.
Both incredibly sexy.
“She is mine,” said Cure.
“No,” said Covid, his voice deep and gravelly. “I will **** her.”
So as this book opens, it has been eight months since the first book in the Kissing the Coronavirus Chronicles and author Edwards straight up Alien3s Alexa Ashingtonford, the protagonist of that book, who apparently died of COVID-19 which is, you know, not that rare, except that she died of getting violently ****** by it. Now, Dr. Kelly Cauldron is engaged in giving out the life-saving cure except she can’t stop thinking about sucking **** down by the river. Then, in comes a new, incredibly handsome patient, Bill Johnso. That’s not a typo, that’s his whole name and that’s about the level of the “humor” in this story. Anyway, he accidentally gets a double dose of the vaccine and this leads to him turning blue and becoming the Cure personified, which, honestly, this is a pretty intense side-effect for something as simple as a double dose. Maybe that Emergency Use Authorization was a mistake. Anyway, drawn to the Cure like a moth to a flame, Covid from the first book shows up and just when it appears that the epic showdown between disease and cure will take place . . . they start making out and suddenly Dr. Cauldron is engaged in the wildest threesome of her life. This e-book is 36 pages, making it more than twice as long as the first one and, I’m not gonna lie, the characterization is a little better. But the humor here is not that funny, the erotic prose is absolutely disgusting and you do not want to know what happens to the hot dog Dr. Cauldron brought for lunch. YOU. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. KNOW. I know what you’re thinking right now. And it’s worse than that. It’s worse. Avoid this book (har har) like the plague, says the guy about to move on to Book Three in the series. 0 stars.
tl;dr – probably less funny than the first book and also more disgusting, The Second Wave of the Coronavirus is worse than the first, mainly because it lasts longer. 0 stars.
